Manufactured February 1942. Springfield barrel dated "2-42" with protected blade front sight and locking bar rear. Internals include a February 1942 "D28287-2SA / RE2" bolt, 1941/1942 "D35382 3 SA" unrelieved op rod, 1941/1942 "D28290-5-SA" trigger housing, 1942/1943 "C46008-3 SA", and milled trigger guard. Classic walnut stocks with added finish and remnants of painted rack markings. No visible import markings. Complete with a vintage Red Head sling. CONDITION: Good. Rifle retains significant portions of arsenal parkerized finish. Fading patina with areas of freckling. Stocks have dings and nicks throughout. Stocks do not match, likely the butt was replaced with a Korean War import. Strong bore with some frosting and other imperfections. ME reads over 3. TE just under 4. Fine mechanics. An honest, largely WW II correct Garand that could be easily be accurately restored.
