Nice World War II issue British Mk II Sten. Top of magazine housing retains clear “E&CO” with the underside of housing with the serial number and “STEN MK II” marking with discernible broad arrow proof. Two original 32-round magazines and one Sten MK II pistol grip assembly are included with this lot. Muzzle brake on the barrel. The Sten MK II was manufactured in great numbers for WWII and is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stampings. It was far less costly and quicker to produce than the previous models, such as the Lanchester. The Sten machine gun found its way to every part of the British Empire, and to other countries as a reliable and compact machine gun that took commonly available ammunition. Electronic NFA registry indicates “ELKINGTON CO” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent highly lustrous refinish on all metal parts with refinished wood handgrip. Bore is shiny with light pitting. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. Curio and Relic-eligible original Sten guns are rather uncommon relative to the number tube guns there are out there, and this specimen is very clean and a real attention-getter. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-12-01.
