A very well accessorized American 180 machine gun with four original plastic pan magazines, one steel magazine, three driving mechanisms, one as-new-in-wrapper spare front sight, and two as-new-in-wrapper rear sight bases. This gun utilizes a neat magazine system which incorporates a detachable handwound spring device to rotate the drum on a steel plate that brings the rounds within the magazine in-line to feed into the gun. When these are fired, the sound has been likened to that of a sewing machine, with the spray of bullets likened to a swarm of angry bees. This gun includes both a horizontal foregrip and a sight mounting rail at top rear of the receiver. The sights are at a high profile in order to be above the pan magazine when it is emplaced on the gun. There is a knurled knob at the underside of the receiver which allows for the removal of the barrel. This is a nice feature as it allows this gun to be disassembled for ease of transport in a very compact package and also makes the parts more accessible for cleaning. Cocking handle is on the left side, safety on the right side. Selector switch is a push-button reminiscent of the MP43/MP44. This gun was manufactured in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is so marked on the underside of the receiver. Electronic NFA registry indicates “AMERICAN ARMS INTERNATIONAL INC” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is a near excellent deep lustrous blued finish on barrel and black anodized finish on the aluminum parts with black hardcoat on upper part of the receiver. The wood furnishings of this gun are very attractive and near excellent with recoil pad fatted to the butt. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt is near excellent and extremely clean. Magazines and winders are extremely fine to near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. This is an extremely well-maintained and attractive specimen of a very popular recreational machine gun with plenty of magazines and driving mechanisms. One of, if not the, best of the .22 LR machine guns that benefits from the springs in the magazine driving mechanism, not to mention the lower relative cost of .22 ammunition compared to other calibers. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2024-12-22
