Irwin-Pedersen production of M1 Carbines was short lived, from November 1942 to April 1943 when Saginaw took over the contract. This example is fitted with a "4 43" dated Underwood barrel with protected blade front sight and "PI" adjustable rear. Rebuilt internals including round bolt and flip type magazine catch. Walnut low wood stock marked on the left side with a boxed "B-A . J-PL" cartouche on the left and faint crossed cannons on the right. 2-rivet top wood retained by a "J.M.Q." bayonet lug barrel band. Carbine includes nylon sling. SAMCO import marked on the underside of the barrel discreetly underneath of the bayonet lug. CONDITION: Good as rebuilt. Carbine retains the vast majority of its arsenal parkerized finishes with moderate high edge and muzzle wear. Wood is very good with some scattered marks. Good bore. ME reads just over 1. Action requires attention, the trigger group is in need of adjustment.
