Irwin-Pedersen production of M1 Carbines was short lived, from November 1942 to April 1943 when Saginaw took over the contract. This example is fitted with a "1 43" dated Underwood barrel with protected "SI B" blade front sight and "I.R.CO." adjustable rear. Rebuilt internals including "IP" trigger group, flip safety, "IO" flat bolt, and "I" slide. Walnut low wood stock marked on the left side with "AAV" and "AN" rebuild markings, as well as on the right with a faint crossed cannons cartouche. 2-rivet "U" and script "Pedersen" marked top wood retained by an "IA" bayonet lug barrel band. Carbine includes nylon sling. SAMCO import marked on the underside of the barrel discreetly underneath of the bayonet lug. CONDITION: Good as rebuilt. Carbine retains the vast majority of its arsenal parkerized finishes with moderate high edge and muzzle wear. Wood is very good as cleaned with some scattered marks. Very good bore. ME reads just over 1. Fine mechanics.
