Produced from 1957 through 1978, the 1949-56 served as the main battle rifle of France until the adoption of the FAMAS assault rifle. This example remains in classic military configuration as rebuilt in 1985 with gray phosphate finish, perforated grenade launcher muzzle brake, flip up grenade launcher sights, protected post front sight, adjustable aperture rear, and 3-piece finger groove beech stocks. Import marked on the left side of the receiver. Rifle is also equipped with a correct APX L806 optic with eye cup. Lot also includes optic case, sling, grenade launcher with carrier, and tools. No magazine present. CONDITION: Very good overall. Rifle retains the vast majority of its arsenal finish with some high edge wear. Stocks are very fine. Strong bore with abrasion in the grooves. Fine mechanics. Clear optics.
