Deeply rifled octagon barrel. Early English lock with convex faces and engraved scrolls. Scalloped frizzen spring and unbridled pan. The brass Lancaster style furniture includes an engraved 4-piece patchbox with classic Lancaster daisy finial and a convex lid. Full length partially figured tiger maple stock carved with classic Lancaster County c-scolls in relief on left side of buttstock. There are relief designs in front of cheekpiece. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina, touchhole appears re-bushed. Lock retains a brown patina and is in its original flintlock configuration, half of cock screw is absent and was broken off long ago. Brass retains a mustard patina. Stock very good with some scattered marks from use and age cracks.
