This rifle is beautifully aged and was accurately restocked by master gunsmith and builder Carl Pippert. His work is so good that the Bladensburg, Pennsylvania, school of gunmakers was a designation used for his work. Rifles made by him are very scarce and desirable. This rifle has an octagon barrel signed "G. Schroyer". The Germanic lock is a replacement also made by Carl Pippert. All of the brass furniture appears to be originally from the signed rifle, including the engraved 4-piece patchbox. The tiger maple stock is an exact and accurate copy of another with identical furniture and features. CONDITION: Very good as restored with homogenous aged appearance.
