With classic Berks County architecture, attributes, carving and patchbox. Deeply rifled octagon barrel. The Germanic lock features a roller frizzen. The brass furniture includes a 4-piece patchbox. Tiger maple stock is of Roman nose form with relief carved c-scrolls on left side of buttstock. Relief panels around lock, sideplate, and ramrod entry ferrule. Wrist carving partially obscured by a well-done brass wrist repair done during its period of use. This rifle is of the style and has the carving attributed to maker Wolfgang Haga. CONDITION: Rifle is unaltered and shows no restoration. Barrel retains a dark brown patina. Lock has a dark patina and is in its original flintlock configuration. Brass retains a dark mustard patina with areas of old burgundy colored polish in some areas. Stock shows scattered signs of age and use. A very attractive, unaltered, completely original Golden Age rifle.
