Production of K.43 rifles by Berlin-Lubecker ceased May 2, 1945, just days before German surrender. This late example falls into the final letter suffix "L" block, the very last rifles were assembled without a letter suffix. Late 1944 or early 1945 "CM" code unthreaded Berlin-Lubecker barrel with stepped front sight base, hooded blade front sight, and tangent rear. Matching rough forged eagle over 214 proofed single guide rail receiver with reinforced rough forged bolt carrier with hold open. Red glue laminate stock and handgaurd. K43 magazine maker marked "aye". Rifle is complete with a wartime dow code Gw ZF 4 scope on reproduction mount. A period leather sling and cleaning rod are also included. CONDITION: Good. Metal finishes have given way to a pleasant dark gray patina throughout with a few mild oxidation spots. Stock appears sanded and reoiled, the markings largely obscured. Handguard has a hidden repair at its attachment point. A split in the lamination also present at the wrist. Strong, frosted bore. Fine mechanics. Optic has some clouding.
