Berlin-Luebecker began production of the G.41 in late 1942, with full scale production starting in 1943. The left side of the receiver of this 1943 example is stamped "G.41" followed by the "duv 43" code, serial number, and "(eagle) / 214" waffenamt. Classic shrouded barrel with bayonet lug, hooded blade front sight, and tangent rear. Interestingly this rifle has been fitted with a modified 25-round MG13 magazine, the magazine and spacer both marked with an "S" within a diamond. It is known Walther utilized modified MG13 magazines similar to this on experimental transitional rifles during the development of the G.43. Standard laminate stock and brown composition handgaurd. Complete with cleaning rod and bayonet. Externally matching numbers observed on the receiver, bolt carrier, front sight base, and muzzle cone. Bolt carrier guide is numbered "971" and is marked with a BLM waffenamt. Stock and bottom metal are also BLM production, both numbered 3379. CONDITION: Good. Significant portions of thinning arsenal blue are retained on metal components, the balance fading to gray patina with some areas of older oxidation spotting. Stock has an age darkened appearance with expected dings and nicks. Fine, bright and shiny bore. Fine mechanics. A scarce and interesting rifle.
