The Dragunov is the the iconic Eastern Bloc DMR, and was fielded during the Cold War as a squad level method of engaging with combatants beyond the effective range of 7.62x39mm. They were produced in many of the Eastern Bloc countries, but this example is a true Russian manufacture example, dated 1972 on underside of receiver with Izhevsk arrow-in-triangle. Iconic configuration with long barrel with long flash hider, long ventilated forearm, and ergonomic stock with cheekpiece and sling affixed to pillar in rear stock and carabiner affixed to loop at gas tube. Matching serial numbers on dust cover, bolt carrier, bolt, autosafety, piston assembly ahead of forearm, trigger assembly on hammer, right side of receiver above trigger guard, and underside of receiver; trunnion marked "H632" behind forearm, barrel numbered "H4358" and marked with British nitro proofs, forearm scales marked "232", stock numbered 20576 at pistol rip. M76 scope mount with a modern production ZRAK scope with appropriate 1.75m ranging reticle. Scope cover with Arabic that appears to be a name and unit from 68th Qah (?) Brigade, with additional Arabic on right side of forearm which resists translation. Accompanied by pair of Eastern Bloc "battle packs" with 4 magazines each (8 total, electropencilled to different guns), one bayonet, two three piece cleaning rods including a pull through, a wallet with oil bottle, and two cleaning tool canisters, full. CONDITION: Fine, showing evidence of theatre use throughout, with thinning through enamel paint to silver throughout, retaining approximately 80% of the blacked finish. Stock with numerous handling marks throughout, befitting an actually used firearm. Mechanically fine and obviously well kept internally, bore with strong, bright rifling and some very mild fouling. Cloth of scope cover is very good, some stitching loose. Accessories fine. Finding a Russian Dragunov is extremely rare, as most examples in this country are Chinese or Romanian.
