Desirable, extremely fine John Stemple registered sideplate DWM manufactured Maxim MG-08 mounted on a Swiss tripod using a steel collar adapter. This gun is not matching parts, but, according to consignor, does shoot well. Desirable Swiss mount makes for an outstanding and much easier-to-transport recreational shooting platform. In addition to the gun and mount, a set of caliber conversion parts to convert this gun from 8mm Mauser to 7.62x54R Russian is also included. This conversion set includes: lock, barrel, and feed-block in 7.62 Russian, as well as barrel extension and trigger bar. An additional 7.62 Russian lock is also included. These highly desirable parts provide for a much sought after flexibility in caliber choice for this model. Other valuable accessories included are an original ZF-12 scope, Finnish belt loading machine with two Finnish ammo cans with 250 round belts, Two 500 round German ammo cans with aluminum Turkish belts, one German and one Finnish water can. Electronic NFA registry indicates “STEMPLE, JOHN” as the manufacturer. Registered as 4672, without letter suffix. Model is simply, "08". CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine refinish upon remanufacture. Water jacket very attractive. Backplate spade handles are extremely fine with some handling marks and a couple small chips with a small crack on each handle. Bores of barrels are extremely fine. Lock faces are extremely fine to near excellent. Gun mechanics are crisp and positive, and action moves smoothly when operated by hand. This is a full-auto only machine gun. Tripod is in extremely fine to near excellent condition with smooth mechanics. This is really an outstanding shooting platform with a very distinctive and attractive, “pop-pop-pop” rate of fire at the range. Always a hit with spectators and interested onlookers.
