This rifle was displayed at the National Firearms Museum from May 1 through December 31, 2000, Item number 16 in program, identified by serial number. This carbine was manufactured in 1917. It is a standard carbine in all respects to include full blue finish, single barrel band, post front sight, military ladder-type rear sight, carbine buttplate with trap, three-piece walnut stock with grooved forearm and upper handguard. Bridge stamped ".30 ARMY". Tang has Winchester legend. CONDITION: Excellent. About as close to new as one could find. There is a ghost line from saddle ring. Magazine has a 1/2" rub at right rear with none of the striations usually found. There is a light rub on right side of magazine guide. Looks almost new including the butt plate. The wood barely has an impression.
