This highly decorated Upper Susquehanna rifle is signed "*J*K*" in script on top flat of its heavy octagon barrel with hooked breech. The lockplate is stamped "G WRIGHT". Double set triggers. Engraved four-piece patchbox with 12 piercings and toeplate with 3 piercings. Shaped brass wearplate between triggerguard and ramrod entry ferrule. Brass cheekpiece inlay and pierced brass inlay below cheekpiece. There are 25 silver inlays throughout with rocker-panel engraved borders. The tiger maple stock has tight grain and is carved with incised scrolls on left side of buttstock. CONDITION: Shortened during its period of use. Barrel retains a mostly brown patina. Lock has an applied finish and is a reconversion. Brass retains a mustard patina, silver inlays polished bright. Stock shows scattered marks from use, and a crack at toe. A very decorative and attractive Kentucky Rifle.
