York County, Pennsylvania. Octagon barrel with brass front sight and notched rear sight. Germanic style lockplate, double-set triggers. Brass furniture includes a four-piece engraved York County patchbox terminating in an edelweiss finial. Sideplate has rocker-panel engraved border. Plain maple stock with faux striping. Incised c-scrolls on both sides of cheekpiece and on both sides of forstock behind ramrod entry ferrule. Relief scrolls around barrel tang. Wood ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina. Lock is a replacement and a reconversion with an aged brown finish. Brass retains a mellowing patina. Stock shows a later finish with traces of original faux striping. Some wood replaced above sideplate, a small piece above front of lock, a piece at toe, and a sliver along barrel. An attractive rifle with a nice patchbox.
