A large Sheffield style bowie knife that was crafted by renowned maker, D.E. Henry. The knife features a hand rubbed satin finished blade with pronounced clip point and false edge. Obverse ricasso is marked "HENRY" with no number on reverse ricasso. Blade exhibits great finish with scattered light scratches and blemishes. Large oval guard with patina to the silvered finish. Hidden tang construction with large stag grip scales that are secured by four silvered pins on each side. Each scale exhibits an oval escutcheon with the obverse engraved "D.E. Henry" and reverse engraved "Old Grizzley". The grips exhibit scattered handling wear with patina. Seam is noticeable with light separation but the scales remain secure to the knife. The knife is complete with its original black leather scabbard that is simple in construction with no mounts, but features a brass riveted belt loop. The scabbard exhibits scattered blemishes and creasing but remains supple. CONDITION: Very good.
