Standard issue with Schofield patent on right side of barrel and Smith & Wesson legend on left side. Butt is stamped "US" with serial number. The walnut right grip panel has matching serial number. Inside the frame is stamped sub-inspector "H". The right grip panel is cracked, repaired and both have been refinished, with no visible cartouche remaining. There is a visible number 5 on back of cylinder. WP inspector stamps at base of barrel. The front sight is period replacement. Comes with a sealed box of 10 Caliber .45 Revolver Ball Cartridges from Frankford Arsenal dated 1878. CONDITION: Good to very good. There is no original finish remaining and is now a smooth grey patina. Legends are all sharp. Cylinder indexes. Bore is strong with minor abrasions. Nice clean example.

CORRECTION: This is an antique, not a Curio & Relic as previously stated.
