This is a very early civilian model with standard blue and case color finish and varnished one piece walnut grips. The factory letter states this gun was shipped on March 31, 1876, with blue finish in .45 caliber, and was shipped to Spies Kissam and Co. in New York, New York in a 50 gun shipment. Early features include the post-23000 serial gothic type one line Colt address, two line patent stamp on left side of frame, early hammer, and oval donut style ejector head. All numbers are matching. This gun has been restored with beautiful blue and proper style case color. The barrel address has been restamped. Some parts were replaced and the entire gun was polished beautifully before finish was applied leaving all legends crisp. CONDITION: Excellent retaining at least 95% of the reapplied finish intact showing some striations on back strap, high edge wear on cylinder with drag line, high edge wear on housing and some handling marks. Grips are a hair shy of metal. There is some blue loss to screws. The action is like new as is the bore. This is a great chance to get top condition early gun at a fraction of the cost of an original in this condition.
