According to the letter, this revolver shipped to Colt's London Agency on June 14th, 1883, in a 12-gun shipment listed as blue finish in .45 caliber. This gun has matching serial numbers on base of barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The 5 - 1/2" barrel was standard on London shipped guns and has the gothic style one line Colt USA barrel address. British proof marks are stamped on each cylinder chamber and base of barrel. The grips are not listed but are standard for the era and destination as one piece varnished walnut. The left side of frame has standard three line patent legend. The left front trigger bow is stamped ".45 Cal". The front sight is a dovetailed silver blade. Blackpowder retaining screw, fire blue screws, correct era hammer with fire blue topside. The oak case is lined in red felt with Colt London Agency trade label. This cataloguer could find no maker legend on oil bottle, wrench, or rod. CONDITION: Fine. The frame retains at least 75% bright case color. The cylinder is a blue grey patina with bright blue in flutes. The barrel retains about 20% blue drifting grey patina. The straps retain about 30% blue drifting a soft grey. The screws retain majority of bright blue and are true. The grips have a few minor dings and retain majority of varnish. The action has four distinct Colt clicks. The bore is bright.
