Brought out in 1965. This gun is covered in the new book on special Savage Model 99s by David Royal on pages 275-278. Features the scroll engraved panels on both sides of frame with antlered game on base with engraved borders. These guns were factory tapped; this one is missing the filler screws. The lever has some light engraving. Both are plated with a gold trigger and top tang safety. The bolt is jeweled. The alloy butt plate has the Savage Indian Head logo. The deluxe walnut stock features a Monte Carlo comb, press checkering, pistol grip with cap, and matching forearm. The barrel is finished in high polish blue with a ramp front sight and single leaf folding rear sight. CONDITION: Excellent. The stocks are fine showing some minor impressions. The frame retains virtually all of the plating but shows some minor bubbling. Barrel shows a few minor handling marks. Bore is bright.
