A well presenting set, as upgraded after leaving the factory to an A1 special. Barrel set (A) with dovetail lump barrels with a concave solid rib with machine cut anti glare matting, ivory bead front sight, and with Parker Reproduction legends in an open vignette. Left side with "20 GAUGE 2 3/4"" designation. Breeches with floral strapwork and 2 - 1/4" triangles of acanthus scrollwork. Barrel flats with Parker Reproduction overload proofs, Winchester's PW proof, serial number, and Q1/Q2 choke designations. Barrel set (B) in identical configuration, excepting barrel length and choke proofs are for Full and Modified. (C) in identical configuration to (B), with "MADE IN GERMANY" on right tube, and with German nitro proofs for 1993 at Ulm on barrel flats. Splinter forearm with reinforced tip and Deely release, checkered in a fleur-de-lis pattern with mullered borders. Exterior iron engraved with acanthus scroll, a shell motif on latch, and bead work. Boxlock action with game scenes of game birds in individual vignettes on either side, with subsequent birds hidden amongst the scroll ahead of the bars. Bottom of the action with bust of a pointer and "Parker Bros" in gold. Beaded recoil shields with scroll and beadwork en suite. Gold washed single selective trigger with selector abutting trigger on left side. Long trigger guard with serial number in gold wire with acanthus scroll. Automatic safety with "S" inlaid in gold ahead of slide. Nicely marbled walnut stock with checkered sidepanels with fleur de lis intrusion and protrusion. English style straight stock checkered in a fleur de lis pattern with mullered borders about the wrist, with a brass vanity plate at toe line with beaded edges. Skeleton buttplate with acanthus scroll and florals enclosing a checkered butt with fleur de lis intrusion at top. Housed in a brass tabbed leather wrapped case with Parker Reproduction trade label in lid, compartmentalized to house all three sets of barrels, gun, Parker branded square oil bottle, snap caps, set of three turnscrews, jag, brush, pair mops, and a horsehair dusting brush, and a two piece cleaning rod. Case discretely signed and dated in one compartment for R.C. Watzke, 2007, and with a small leather label in lid that reads "A-1 Special Custom Shop Middlesex, New Jersey". CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the custom finishes, with extremely minor marks from handling and storage. Some very minor silvering to sharpest edges. Mechanically fine, bores excellent, bright and shiny, ejectors a little soft but in time. Case very good with some rubs and impressions from storage, heavy on exterior with some scraping.
