Both of these firearms end in the same serial number (068). (A) Classic configuration with blade front sight, square notch flat top rear sight, spur hammer, and external extractor. Gold washed trigger and walnut grips with raised checkered panels with beaded borders. Engraved with acanthus scroll on a stippled ground, with various inserts, including a ribbon on right side of frame with "BROWNING CLASSIC", eagle heads ahead of slide step, a bust of John Moses Browning on top of slide towards rear, a scene of a lynx and an eagle engaged in combat around the ejection port, and another ribbon on left side of frame that reads "ONE OF FIVE THOUSAND". Accompanied by walnut display case still in original kraft box with serial number in pencil on lid. CONDITION: Excellent, showing superficial handling marks throughout with some very minor age related spotting in deep recesses. Mechanically fine, bore with strong, crisp rifling and some minor frosting in grooves. Case fine. Engraved with acanthus scroll on a stippled ground, with various inserts, including a ribbon on right side of frame with "BROWNING GOLD CLASSIC", eagle heads ahead of slide step, a bust of John Moses Browning on top of slide towards rear, a scene of a lynx and an eagle engaged in combat around the ejection port, and another ribbon on left side of frame that reads "068 OF FIVE HUNDRED". Ribbons, eagle head, bust, and fight scene gold washed. Engraving signed Pb. Accompanied by walnut display case still in original kraft box with serial number in pencil on lid.
