Octagon barrel inscribed "John Moll jr Allentown" on top flat. Lock marked "A. PARRISH / PHILADA" in center and features a roller frizzen. The brass furniture includes an engraved 2-piece patchbox with fleur-de-lis finial and thin brass wire skirts decorated with black ebonizing between skirts and lid. Toeplate in the shape of a liberty cap. Silver barrel pin escutcheons. Elongated oval saddle wear plate engraved with foliate motifs. Classic Lehigh sideplate terminating with an arrow finial. Left side of buttstock decorated with silver star inlays surrounded by brass wire inlay and ebonizing within. Tiger maple stock of classic Lehigh form with great tight stripes. Ramrod appears original. CONDITION: Untouched. Barrel retains a pleasing brown patina. Lock retains a brown patina and is in its original flintlock configuration. Brass and silver have dark patinas. Stock shows much of its original finish. Each side of forend has a sliver missing along barrel, broken off long ago. Generous amounts of ebonizing remain. A nice signed Lehigh rifle. PROVENANCE: Ex.
