Circa 1988 per "AA" date code. Chopper lump barrels with steel bead front sight, engraved with light scrollwork over breeches, and signed "ARMI FAMARS" on left barrel. Underside of barrels with FAMARS proof and Italian proofs for a nitro prooved gun made in 1988 with 70mm chambers, with nominal 15.8 IBD at 1,220 KG. Lump marked "2", indicating manufacture as part of a set. Svelte beavertail forearm with reinforced Anson release, engraved with floral scroll on exterior iron, and checkered in a modified point pattern with mullered borders around a FAMARS heraldric device. Interior iron with matching serial number and "2". Sidelocks are engraved by the renowned Angelo Galeazzi in his iconic Diana motifs. Left lock depicts Diana and two other huntresses undressed and disarming to bathe, while their loyal hound waits for them in a forest scene. Right lock depicts Diana and four huntresses after their bath, drying off and rearming themselves to reengage in the hunt, bottom scene depicts a fully prepared huntress with her loyal hound in front of a finely detailed tree. Left lock has Galeazzi's full "Galeazzi" signature, while the right lock and bottom scene have an abbreviated signature. Locks are supported by well cut floral scrollwork. Non-automatic safety with "SICURA" ahead of slide, single mechanical trigger protected by a long tang trigger guard with floral engraving and a rolled right edge. Walnut stock with a rippled wave grain and build with teardrops, a pistol grip, and Pachmayr white line recoil pad. Point pattern checkering with mullered borders about the wrist. Housed in a tan leather case with red lining, FAMARS heraldric crest in lid, and containing accessories comprising FAMARS certificate of authenticity, slips for barrels and stock, and pair snapcaps. CONDITION: Barrels with the vast majority of their original black with some scattered handling marks and superficial scratches. Some thinning to silver at muzzles and where tip of forearm contacts barrels. Stocks excellent, butt somewhat dry, with some scattered handling marks and impressions, heavier at pistol grip; checkering is sharp. Locks excellent with crisp engraving; rear screw possibly molested as it is no longer flush and can be caught on a fingernail. Mechanically fine, bores excellent, bright and shiny, ejectors a little soft but in time. Case very good with typical marks and scuffs. A fabulous small bore with engraving by one of Italy's finest in his preferred motif.
