Henry Derringer was so prolific, this type of pistol was universally named for him. Both pistols with a hand checkered one piece walnut stock. Both have an engraved metal butt with a trap door. The actions are stamped "Deringer PhiladelphA" with the same stamp at barrel breech. The octagon to round barrels have two wedding bands at breech and dovetailed silver front sights. The trigger guards are engraved with a pineapple finial. The upper tang, hammer, action, and grip cap are also engraved. Each pistol has a silver presentation shield. The French fitted black leatherette covered case with large brass carry handle includes a high finish flask, a wood handle nipple wrench, a single cavity iron bullet mold, a small powder measure scoop, a brass tipped wooden tamper rod, a wood handled turn screw with two ivory handle covered compartments. CONDITION: Fine. The barrels are a soft homogenous patina. Lock and hammer are oxidized. The plated furniture is clean. Stocks are excellent with sharp checkering. Very sharp and hard to find Henry Deringer cased pair.
