Circa 1981 per XXIV date code. Monobloc barrels with resin front sight and ivory mid bead on a low profile matted vent rib with a gold inlaid "I" at rear, denoting that it was once part of pair. Italian proofs on underside of bottom chamber with nitro proof and 2 - 3/4" chamber. Legends ahead of bloc read "P. BERETTA - MADE IN ITALY / MOD SPECIALE PER SKEET", right side with steel designation. Forearm with point pattern checkering about a Deely latch release with floral engraving on exterior iron; interior is jeweled and marked with matching serial number. Holland & Holland style hand detachable sidelocks are engraved with Art Deco floral scroll on a striated ground, signed by Bertelli at trigger guard. Breech face with gas vents and double Kersten lockup. Top lever pierced with floral design and with a golden crown. Non-auto safety with golden "S" inlaid ahead of slide. Single non-selective trigger protected by a long trigger guard engraved en suite, with a vacant oval. Stock of a nicely figured walnut constructed with drop point, a gentle diamond cross section at the wrist, checkered in point pattern, and finished by a rubber recoil pad. Cast is neutral. CONDITION: Barrels are very good with some superficial handling marks, somewhat heavier towards muzzle on bottom barrel. Action is very good with some minor handling marks, with crisp, well cut engraving. Gold wash lifting off trigger. Wood is very good with some handling marks and impressions from the field, somewhat heavier on left side instead of right. Mechanically fine, bores are bright and smooth, ejectors are slightly out of time, bottom fires first. A lovely Italian over/under.
