Lot consits of (A) Shakudo tsuba, approximately 2 - 3/4" x 3", with a white metal rim. Depicts a Buddhist god with a wide hat, long flowing beard, and a broom brushing out an oni, cleverly executed with his torso up on the face of the tsuba, and his torso down on the rear, depicting his mad scramble. Mixed metals, with broom and hat executed in copper, broom shaft in silver, and gold highlights, on the god, oni with gold fangs and copper eyes. Textured ground, signed Mitsutomo. CONDITION: Very good with some superficial handling marks. Rim not quite flush all the way around. (B) Highly unusual wooden kozuka, with lacquer built up and used to depict a wooded scene, with a textured ground, transitioning of a smooth half moon about the wooded scene. Unsigned. CONDITION: With a small longitudinal crack that does not affect the scene. Some mild handling marks.
