The basis for this custom finish weapon is the rare Smith and Wesson Model 320 revolving rifle. Smith produced a mere 977 revolving rifles between 1879 and 1887. Based on the popular No. 3 single action with a ribbed extended 16" round barrel. This example has a custom pair of ivory grips and ivory forearm. The rifle has been polished and completely reblued. The rib sports the two line Smith & Wesson legend. The hammer was recase colored. The back strap is cut for the accompanying should stock, which is original and has the S&W high polish blue hardware with the original gutta percha butt plate. The left side has been custom carved in a Germanic oak leaf pattern. The only serial number still visible is a partial on cylinder. The custom made display case features six original brass cases. CONDITION: Excellent as restored to near new condition with some handling marks and a light drag line. Dried grease was removed but still needs a bit of attention to action as cylinder sticks.
