Circa 1963-1969 per "Holland & Holland: The Royal Gunmaker" by Dallas. One of the Northwood guns, which were built outside of the H&H factory in the Birmingham trade, but finished and regulated at Holland & Holland. 32" monobloc barrel with serrated matte vent rib with steel fore and mid beads. Rib with an open vignette with "HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 33, BRUTON STREET, LONDON.", a plugged hole is visible around the "BR" in address. Address indicates that the barrel has been replaced, as H&H did not move to 33 Bruton until 1984. Barrel flats with 1984 proofs for a 12 gauge, 2 - 3/4" chambered, nitro proved gun at 3 - 1/4" tons and a nominal .729 IBD. Beavertail forearm retained by a screw and checkered in point pattern with mullered borders. Exterior iron case colored and engraved with scroll and floral accents. Interior of iron with matching serial number. Action flats with serial number and CP proof. Boxlock Anson & Deely action with "Holland & Holland" on both sides, under breech, engraved with nicely cut and shaded scrollwork, with bordered edges. Right side rolled trigger guard and trigger plate are blued, engraved en suite. Short tang trigger guard protects a single trigger. Horn pistol grip cap. Somewhat plain stock of a ripple grain is checkered about the wrist in two panels of point-and-wave pattern with mullered borders and has a Monte Carlo drop. Belly of stock with inset oval, vacant. Replacement Pachamyr white line recoil pad. Cast is very, very slightly off for a right handed shooter, almost neutral. In a wine colored case lined in foliage green with H&H trade label in lid and accessories comprising box patches, mop, brush, jag, case straps, bottle NevaRust Oil, two piece cleaning rod, H&H branded Selvyt cloth, and wallet with sealed pull through. CONDITION: Barrels with the vast majority of their bluing, with some handling marks and marks from the field. Some discoloration around solder lines at vent rib. Boxlock action excellent with some thinning to carry points, engraving crisp. Stocks very good with handling marks and sharp checkering; worst marks a collection of left side abutting lever. Recoil pad replaced and oversized. Mechanically fine, ejector strong, bore very good with some very mild frosting. Case and accessories excellent.
