Rare and desirable S code Simson luger. According to the book "SIMSON LUGERS" on page 33 it states that only about 1000 S toggle guns were ever produced. This is one of the last ones manufactured. The highest serial number recorded is 1888a. This is an all matching numbered gun to include the magazine. Strawed small parts. Two piece checkered wood grips. Nickel plated magazine with an aluminum bottom. Almost every part has an Eagle 6 simpson proof. It comes in a police holster that is marked "ROBERT LARSON / BERLIN / 1934" with a starburst L proofmark. CONDITION: This gun retains virtually all of the original factory applied blue and straw finish. There are a few spots of high edge wear. The checkering on the grips is sharp and crisp. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The holster is in very good condition showing some wear at the corners of the holster. The stitching is tight and serviceable. An outstanding luger that is highly desirable.
