Manufactured 1912 as part of a 1,000 gun contract for the United States Navy. Half moon front sight, U notch round top rear sight. Left side of slide with two line two block patent and address information with encircled pony at rear, right with serif "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. NAVY". "H" stamped above firing pin retaining plate. "H" on rear of barrel hood. Frame with "H" and "6" near disconnector. Frame with "UNITED STATE PROPERTY" on left side of dust cover intertwined "WGP" in circle for Penfield above magazine release. Right side of dust cover with serial number. Small parts comprise checkered spur hammer, thin tab safety with milled relief cut, checkered slide release with milled relief cut, long milled trigger, short 1911 grip safety, and smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Replacement truncated diamond walnut grips. Fully blued magazine with lanyard loop. With previous description. CONDITION: Very good as completely and competently restored. Retains virtually all of the reapplied bluing, with some thinng to sharp edges at muzzle. Some scattered handling marks, including takedown mark. Edges softened by refinish, stamps refreshed. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and moderate frosting.
