These pistols are scarce in the United States, as only about 1,000 or so were produced in Mexico by Fabrica de Armas. While they superficially resemble the Colt 1911A1, they utilize a rotating barrel instead of a swinging link. Half moon front sight and square notch flat top rear sigh on a stippled central rib, with the second half of the slide taking on a rounded profile. Left side of slide with "Sistema OBREGON / Calibre 11,43". Frame with "FABRICA DE ARMAS MEXICO", serial number, and patent number. Distinct one piece safety and slide release is a possible replacement, as it doesn't fit quite correctly. Magazine release with dogleg intended to function as a trigger block. Other small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, angled longed style grip safety, serrated trigger, concentric magazine release, serrated front strap, and serrated arched mainspring housing. Checkered walnut grips. Replacement magazine does not sit flush. CONDITION: With approximately 30% bluing retained in protected areas. Balance is a dove grey with even peppering discoloration. Some thinning and silvering to sharp edges. Stocks heavily wor and checkering softened. Mechanically fine, somewhat sticky, excepting magazine block which does not block trigger. Bore with heavy frosting and visible rifling. A very scarce pistol in the United States.
