This is a very innovative milled steel upper receiver which is designed to pin on to an AR-15 lower receive to convert it to a belt fed look-alike to the German MG-34. This unit can ONLY be used with a semi-automatic AR-15 lower, or if registered by a Title II manufacturer as a Post 86 Dealer Sample, it may be utilized as a machine gun. This item is sold and will transfer as a semi-automatic rifle. One will note the added mounting hardware with two studs for attachment to the German Lafette tripod with an added mounting boss at the bottom of the barrel shroud. As part of the design the bolt in this firearm has had an added extension piece and redesigned charging handle. The XMG utilizes MG34/42 non-disintegrating metal belts. Per ATF ruling, this transfers as a modern rifle and (quote from BRP Corp) "We were recently notified by BATFE in a letter dated 12/23/08 that the XMG upper receiver assembly may only be used with semiautomatic lower receivers unless registered on an ATF Form 2 as a dealer sales sample by a licensed manufacturer and Special Occupational Taxpayer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine with many parts being original Nazi marked repurposed MG-34 parts with vintage proofmarks. This makes this unit particularly attractive.
