Cased Perugini Visini & Co. 9.3x74R double rifle with 24 - 3/4” barrels. Length of pull of 14 - 7/16” to a red rubber recoil pad. The rifle sports a Prince of Wales stock, double triggers on a scalloped A&D boxlock action with double underbites, Southgate ejectors, “SIGURA” engraved ahead of the non-auto safety catch, blade front sight on a ramp, quarter rib rear sight with one standing leaf and claw mount bases, Deeley forend release, beaded pancake style cheek piece for a right-handed shooter, and a checkered grip and forend. The barrels are marked “PERUGINI VISINI & CO NUVOLERA BRESCIA” and “CAL 9,3 X 74R MADE IN ITALY”. The barrel flats show Italian nitro proof marks with a proof year code of 1984. Housed in a khaki canvas case with a maker’s label, key, one piece of brass, and a green barrel sock. Minimally engraved case color hardened action and blued furniture. A fair bit of case colors remain, although somewhat dulled. Plainer walnut stock. CONDITION: The rifle remains in excellent original condition and shows evidence of little use other than sign of age and storage compression on the rubber pad. Excellent chambers and bores with sharp and crisp lands. Top lever right of center, on face and the ejectors in time. A nice handing double in caliber capable of taking any North American game. From the collection of noted African hunter and collector Richard Cousins.
