The factory research states this rifle was shipped on February 6, 1880 with checkered stock, pistol grip, round barrel rifle. Features a German silver dovetailed front sight, scarce Winchester folding leaf express rear sight, smooth steel shotgun butt plate, black horn Schnabel forearm tip and ebony wrist inset. Both sides of wrist exhibit expertly applied nickel repairs, each affixed with multiple small screws. The left side has a grizzly bear that is nicely engraved. The other side is two bands that read . " Gun and owner S EVERELY, damaged by Grizzley (sp)" The lower bar is engraved " Teton Peak Mont. Nov. 10 1885 - BEAR FARED EVEN WORSE! " This remembrance was applied later with no documentation as to when but is quite interesting. CONDITION: Fine. With repairs already accounted for. The barrel is a smooth patina blending with some light blue. Fame shows some generous blending blue. All legends are sharp The trigger guard is patina. Stock is fine showing usual scattered light dings and impressions. Mechanically sound. Bore is mirror bright.
