This is another “work-in-progress” project from the William Fleming collection. It is an American 180 aluminum receiver with steel bolt. Marked “180 22 CAL.” over serial number over “FLEMING FIREARMS INC” / “C’VILLE, OK USA” with added “Collinsville” in electric pencil. This is a bare, inletted, prepared receiver with no parts other than the steel bolt included. This cataloger has no way to verify whether this requires any additional machine work, but it certainly looks like it is only awaiting the required additional parts to be made into a machine gun. Electronic NFA registry indicates, “FLEMING,WILLIAM DBA FLEMING FIREARMS” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the machine gun collection of William “Happiness is a Warm Machine Gun” Fleming. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is in the white with aluminum receiver appearing as new. Steel bolt has scattered brown very light corrosion which will clean up and polish nicely. A straightforward project for someone to take on to complete into a popular fast-firing machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
