This is one of the very desirable original produced at the factory Inland manufactured US M2 Carbines. Marked “M2” on the receiver with “4-45” dated Inland barrel. Serial is correct for the date at just over 7.1 million. Note the “A” visible on the selector lever visible from the left side. This gun has undergone government retrofit since WW II with adjustable rear peep sight and bayonet lug forward barrel band, as well as round bolt, and flip safety. It retains an early four rivet hand guard. Two 15 round magazine present in WWII dated canvas pouch on stock of gun with high condition sling and clamp-on muzzle brake. The M2 Carbine was fielded at the very end of World War II with most going to the Pacific Theater. After the war, many M1 Carbines were retrofitted and made into M2 carbines by the U.S. government. These guns saw service throughout the Korean and Vietnam War eras and were even supplied to other countries by the United States thereafter. Electronic NFA registry indicates “INLAND” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine arsenal refinish with some loss of finish on the bolt and where the charging handle rides on the receiver. Wood is very attractive, “U.S. Standard Products” marked with number “4425787” on left side filled with paint. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Just a great fun gun to take to the range ! THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
