Based on the venerable Browning M1919, the M37 was adopted by the US Army in 1955 for use on tanks and other vehicles. The example has been professionally manufactured by Columbus Ordnance as a semi-automatic only rifle. Full parkerized finish. Classic perforated barrel shroud. Flip up blade front sight and ladder rear. Unlike the 1919, the M37 can fed from the left or right. Sideplate marked on the outside with serial number, model, "U.S. PROPERTY" marking, and "SACO-LOWELL SHOPS". Columbus Ordnance manufacture markings are discreetly stamped on the inside. Extended charging handle which is operated from the rear. Manual trigger with checkered steel pistol grip. Internals appear to be largely USGI. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the parkerized finish is retained with light scuffs and wear. Fine, bright bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics.
