Amazing, superb original condition German Maxim machine gun ZF-12 optic in original 1936 dated leather carrying case. The red and yellow lense filter caps are present in this carrier along with the leather eyepiece, metal lense cap, with leather retaining strap. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Dolf L. Goldsmith. CONDITION: Near excellent original green pebble finish on metal casting with original painted finish on cover. Optics are clear, as is the original lettering “Emil Busch A.-G. / Rathenow”. Original added textile gun-number marking “4048”. Brown leather case with brass furnishings is every bit as impressive “Hensoldt” and “1936” marked and in extremely fine to near excellent condition as well. When was the last time, if ever, you saw a ZF-12 as complete and in such nice condition as this? This is a wonderful find for the advanced Maxim collector! JWK 2025-09-175.
