This is a Rock Island Armory (not to be confused with Rock Island Arsenal) registered receiver M-15A1 (Their designation for their version of a M16A1) machine gun. The upper assembly has a forward assist and lower is marked on the left side of the magazine housing with the factory crossed-cannon logo, caliber, and model designation above the serial number. The upper assembly currently on the gun has a 17 - 3/4" barrel and round handguards. The spare upper included has a 21 - 1/2" barrel, triangular handguards and a chrome bore. A black web sling, leather sling, and one 30 round “LMT” magazine is included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “ROCK ISLAND ARMORY” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original finish on metal with near excellent composite furnishings, with some slight loss of finish in places. Bores of both barrels are near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. An outstanding machine gun which appears like a Colt M16A1, and will be difficult to tell it is not until it is closely examined. A great fun gun to take to the range.
