Highly attractive matte blue refinished Harrington and Richardson Reising Model 50 machine gun with 14 fin barrel and compensator. One original 20 round lustrous blue finish magazine, and two 12 round capacity magazines are included with this lot. The magazine housing currently on this gun will only accept the 12 round magazines, but there is also a box of Reising parts including with this lot which contains a slab-sided magazine housing which could be installed onto the gun so it can utilize the higher capacity magazines. Other small spare parts included include: trigger, cut trunnion with stock mounting stud, mainspring retention screw, bolt, plus two springs and small pins. An original 1951 dated manual, a reprinted 1943 dated manual, and April 1986 dated page from American Rifleman magazine with "Q and A" about "H & R Reising SMGs", are also included. The Reising Model 50 was fielded in limited numbers to the Marine corps during WWII. Firing from a closed bolt gave an advantage to the firer over the Thompson, which fires from an open bolt. Electronic NFA Registry indicates “HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent matte gray refinish on the gun. Markings are soft but legible. Blonde wood is extremely attractive as refinished. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. This gun presents exceptionally well, and is perhaps the most attractive, clean specimen this cataloger has ever seen. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2025-09-181.
