The "Handy Gun" was always very popular, particularly useful in areas where venomous snakes thrive. Easily carried in a holster and with relatively mild recoil, especially in .410, yet completely adequate to dispatch troublesome "critters" as one gentlemen (now in his 90s), once said to this cataloger. Attractive case hardened action is marked on left side, "H. & R. “Handy - Gun"”, with makers name and address on the right side. Electronic NFA registry indicates "HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original blue finish on barrel and trigger guard with significantly faded case hardening on receiver. Bore near excellent, shiny and bright. Wood is extremely fine with some slight dings and handling marks. Forend retention screw slot damaged yet completely serviceable. This piece is every bit as useful for its intended purpose today as it was in yesteryears. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON" ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2025-09-193.
