Exceptional condition M-14 select-fire U.S. service rifle machine gun manufactured by Thompson Ramo Woodridge, Inc. (TRW), with original TRW marked bolt. These TRW manufactured M-14 rifles were held to higher tolerances and components were more selectively fitted and assembled than the rifles produced by other manufacturers. The top of the receiver is stamped "U.S. RIFLE/ 7.62 MM M14” over TRW triangular logo above the serial number. This M-14 is equipped with the highly desirable walnut U.S.G.I. E2 stock with pistol grip, bipod, original sling, sling loop, muzzle brake, and one magazine. There is also an additional standard U.S.G.I original buttstock exhibiting the Department of Defense eagle under three stars cartouche within a square, with the underside of the wrist bearing an encircled "P" proof. There is a white stenciled (rack number) “555” on the left side of this stock. Electronic NFA registry indicates, “THOMPSON RAMO WOOLRIDGE DBA TRW” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original matte finish Both stocks are near mint, with only the slightest of handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. This is a select-fire machine gun. An exceptional example of the U.S. military rifle designed to be a box magazine version of the M1 Garand, and also able to fulfill the role of the Browning automatic rifle in the late 1950s and into the 1960s. This ais a fabulous ensemble of an original M-14 with accessories. These very seldom surface for sale. Fantastic opportunity for the advanced and discerning U.S. military rifle collector.
