Factory original three position, "0.1.25." selector Heckler & Koch HK33E registered receiver machine gun. The gun was manufactured in 1982 according to “IC” proof on left side of the magazine housing. Marked, “Made in W - Germany / HK Chantily, Va.” on right side of magazine well, with no markings of any kind on top of receiver. This is a factory original HK53, not a remanufactured, or installed auto-sear gun. This specimen incorporates a magazine release which is both a button on the right side of the magazine well and also a “tab” at the bottom of the mag well. It also features a telescoping stock and horizontal fore-end. One original matte gray finished magazine is included with this gun. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATF) has determined that this gun has met the requirements of, “26 U.S.C. 5844(1) government use import exception"; and therefore, is fully transferable. NFA Electronic registry indicates, “HECKLER AND KOCH GMBH” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: Copy of email from BATF to Morphy Auctions identifying this gun by serial number and stating that "Restrictions have been lifted". The email also states a written paper letter from the BATF addressed to Morphy's will be forthcoming. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent black hardcoat finish. Composite furnishings and bore are both near excellent. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A stellar factory original Heckler & Koch machine gun in a very desirable configuration. This gun will undoubtedly command a premium now, and into the foreseeable future.
