Highly popular and sought after M3 Grease Gun as manufactured by Guide Lamp for use during WWII. Accessories include four 30 round magazines, 1 of which is lustrous finish, with clamp-on flash hider at muzzle. Typical “Guide” is discernible on left side of magazine housing with crossed cannons arsenal marking near, “fenced” magazine release button. Also typical Guide Lamp markings on underside of action housing “G.L.-C153432”. This gun is registered under the number on the right side of the magazine housing. There is no number on the left side of the magazine housing below the crossed cannon proof, almost certainly that way before amnesty registration. The M3 with added provision for an oiler bracket on the right side of the action housing. The M3 cocks by the firer opening the ejection port cover, then actuating a lever on the left side of the receiver to withdraw the bolt to the rear. The M3 was a contemporary successor to the Thompson machine gun during World War II as a less costly, and more rapidly produced machine gun. Electronic NFA registry indicates “US” in the manufacturer’s block. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine smooth gray matte finish thinning in places to a pleasing gray patina, and bare metal at the sling rings and at a spot on the left side of the barrel. Below the crossed cannons exposed bare metal has been covered with some kind of black marker ink. There is a ring of color at the barrel retention nut which could be easily removed and cleaned. Magazines range from good to fine finish. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is also extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp and positive. This is a full-auto only machine gun. The Grease gun is a highly sought collector’s item for both the WW2 and shooting enthusiast. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
