This is tripod #183 suitable for an Argentine brass or steel jacket Maxim. It also will fit numerous other models of water cooled machine guns with the same attachment point dimensions. Forward retaining pin present, no rear pin present. Seat base is present as integral to the rear leg, but no seat or seat hardware present. No tripod leg leather retention strap or hardware present with stiff wire holding the tripod legs folded. But the critical functionality and usefulness of this tripod remains intact. It is a steady platform, and is a vintage original. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good with original black paint giving way to brown surface corrosion. Mechanism parts are stiff, but that is good news. Extendable rear leg does not extend by hand. Overall a very welcome find for a vintage machine gun collector who desires and age appropriate tripod for their gun. JWK 2025-09-246.
