This is a "U.S." and "M3" marked Browning .50 caliber machine gun tripod in modern manufactured wooden transport crate. No pintle (stirrup), or Traverse and Elevation mechanism present. This is an incredibly stable firing platform for any machine gun, and a popular base for numerous adapters, including posts which allow the firer to stand up while shooting. CONDITION: Overall appearance is extremely fine original gray blue finish with speckling of very light surface corrosion which should clean up nicely. This tripod is a cut above the others which are available because of its markings. JWK 2025-09-249.
