Circa 1860 to 1890. Four clear glass Roman Crown (or Roman Recess) tapered bottles with recessed glass fancy labels and faceted stoppers. The smaller top made it easier to remove bottles from a row and made them less likely to tip over. Three round clear glass Egyptian Recess bottles with recessed glass fancy labels and thumbprints on the base of the jar and the stopper; patented 1895 by John Dawes of Pittsburgh. Two clear glass bottles with brown recessed glass decorative labels. All scarce jars. Labels read: POT. CARB. PUR., P. CUBEBA, PLUMBI AC., P. CRETA CO., P. SINAPIS, P. ALOE S., P. ANTIMON., AC. MUR. DIL., and ICHTHYOL & GLYCERIN.
