6" barrel with dovetailed German silver blade front sight, hammer notch rear sight, stagecoach cylinder scene, top of octagonal barrel with gothic script "Saml Colt". Matching full or partial numbers observed on barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, butt, cylinder, wedge, and rammer. Single-piece ivory grips are marked on inside "4799" unclear if factory but certainly period. Housed in a modern case with compartments for an Eley Bro cap tin, reproduction Colt Combustible cartridge packet, period flask, period reblued L tool, and period brass 2 cavity Colt bullet mold. Accompanied by an interesting letter from Charles Coles, the Curator of the Colt Museum, covering some features of the 1849. CONDITION: NRA Good.
